"I Had an Abortion"
Filmmaker to be in Iowa City

The Emma Goldman Clinic is hosting a screening of Jennifer Baumgardner's, film, "I Had an Abortion" on Saturday, September 24 from noon to 2pm in Room D of the Iowa City Public Library. Ms. Baumgardener will be present to introduce her film and to lead a community conversation about abortion after the screening.

Jennifer Baumgardner is a native of Fargo, North Dakota and has made her career in New York City as a prominent voice for women and girls, working as a writer, speaker, and activist. She was the youngest editor of Ms. (1993-1997) and has written investigative pieces for Harper's and The Nation.

A great way to do that is to hear the stories of individuals and to share our own stories. Abortion is such a personal decision, yet the political climate today dictates that some of us need to share our experiences with this personal matter, to bring real stories to light.
