Emma Goldman Clinic
Helps With Katrina Relief
The Emma Goldman Clinic will provide $1,000 in Katrina relief targeted
to reproductive health care needs of evacuees and others affected by the
hurricane. The Clinic is asking the community to match this amount.
Donations collected will go towards helping individuals receive
reproductive health care and to rebuild and repair clinics that were
damaged by the storm. "Women may have left without their medications,
including their contraception. These will need to be replaced. Others
may have had an appointment for abortion services, but couldn't get to
the clinic, or the clinic was closed. We hope our small efforts in Iowa
City can be targeted to these kinds of needs so that women and their
families can regain some control back over their lives," stated Karen
Kubby, Executive Director of the Emma Goldman Clinic.
Donations forms are available on the Clinic's web site
www.emmagoldman.com or can be dropped off or sent to the Clinic at 227
N. Dubuque St., Iowa City, IA 52245. Please be sure to indicate that
your donation is part of the community match for the Emma Goldman
Clinic's Katrina relief project.
