Menopause Madness

Emma Goldman Clinic is hosting a discussion about menopause on Monday, November 15, 2004 from 5:30-6:30pm at the Jesse Cosby Neighborhood Center, 1112 Mobile St. in Waterloo.  Theresa McDonald, Nurse Practitioner at Emma Goldman Clinic will provide information and answer questions at this seminar. “Many women find these life changes ‘maddening’.  We hope that after this session, women feel more informed about what is happening with their bodies, so that these changes are incorporated into their lives instead of disrupting it.”

This discussion is part of the new reproductive health care street outreach program started by Emma Goldman Clinic.  This new program will focus on providing reproductive health care information to residents on the east side of Waterloo and the downtown area.

Claudia Robinson, the Clinic’s Waterloo worker running this program stated, “Reproductive health care is something everyone has to attend to—no matter what age you are, no matter if you are a man or woman.  We hope this new street outreach program, and this seminar on menopause, is just the beginning of Emma Goldman Clinic’s relationship with the Waterloo community.  Feedback we got from our focus groups encouraged us to include information about menopause in our educational programming.  We offer this discussion as part of our pledge to be responsive to the Waterloo community.”

This program is free and open to the public.  Light refreshments will be served.  For more information, or to request a special accommodation to participate, please contact Claudia Robinson at (319) 232-4125.
