Pledge-A-Picketer
What is Pledge a Picketer?
Anti-abortion protestors use verbal harassment, misinformation, and graphically misleading photographs to intimidate clients and staff. In response, the Clinic initiated the Pledge a Picketer campaign to help the community reaffirm their commitment to reproductive rights and turn the picketers’ negative energy into positive support for the clinic.
How It Works
The Clinic tracks the number of anti-abortion picketers each month. Through Pledge a Picketer, you pledge a set amount per picketer, for example: $1 per person. If 10 people picket in May, your total pledge is $10. You choose the amount, duration, and a maximum monthly cap. The Emma Goldman Clinic averages about 70 picketers per month. Each month, you’ll receive an email update with the total picket count, which can be paid online or by mail.

Money collected from the Pledge a Picketer campaign helps sustain the Clinic long-term, making the picketers' presence work towards increasing access to reproductive choice, rather than limiting it.

Building Our Future Campaign
The Building Our Future campaign is an initiative to support and strengthen the Emma Goldman Clinic’s work as it continues providing reproductive healthcare for people in the Midwest in a post-Roe environment.
From its beginnings over fifty years ago, the Emma Goldman Clinic has supported individuals in making informed decisions about their healthcare and responded to changing client needs by expanding its services. Despite current challenges, the Emma Goldman Clinic will continue to serve the community and create a world in which reproductive healthcare is recognized as an essential human right, but we need visionary supporters to help us build the future we envision and ensure the Clinic’s long-term strength.
Individuals or groups who pledge to contribute at one of the giving levels noted below every year for the next three years to support and strengthen Iowa’s only independent abortion care provider will be recognized as members of our Builders’ Circle.

- Innovator $2,500-$4,999
- Leader $1,000-$2,499
- Defender $500-$999
